Spacious 12-14 person ski chalet with stunning views and huge terrace

This traditional Savoyard style chalet is packed full of charm with it's large open fire, plentiful lounge seating, good size dining table and 5 bedrooms.

There is a large balcony running around the whole front and side of the chalet overlooking the Tarentaise valley and you get a front row seat to some stunning sunsets in both winter and summer.

The chalet boasts a Landry room and ski room with an extra fridge freezer for family groups.


This is the perfect family chalet, with its large dormitory room for the kids where they can play together and let the adults get on with their evening just below in the lounge area. There is also a lovely outdoor space for building snowmen and igloo's as well as a separate room with washing facilities and plenty of room to keep the skis and boots in.

Chardon Bleu comprises of 2 double rooms, 2 twin rooms and a large family/kids room with 4 single beds and a bunk bed making it a great second living space for kids. The chalet has 2 bathrooms, both with bath and separate shower cubicle.

The spacious and light lounge area with its corner sofa, 2 arm chairs and open log fire, is the perfect place to relax with friends and family.

A small TV and DVD is located in the bedroom off the lounge.

Downstairs is a boot room/laundry room that has direct access outside for easy access with skis/bikes. There is a large shelving area for boots and helmets plus a washing machine, dryer, second fridge with separate freezer, large sink and plenty of space for bike storage.

Bread and croissants can be delivered to your door every morning (winter only) and we can pre-order discounted lift passes, equipment hire and arrange lessons or mountain bike guiding so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy your stay.

Cleaning and COVID

We are following the Gîtes de France government guidelines for Covid 19 sanitary measures.

  • Minimum of 6 hours between client departure and client arrival.
  • Antiviral sprays used in all rooms and all surfaces.
  • Linen and towels washed at over 60 degrees.
  • Hand sanitizer is at the disposal of all clients in the reception area,
  • Masks and hard plastic separators between staff and clients in the reception area.
  • Credit card payments available.
What is included in your chalet

The following are included with your booking:

  • On arrival each chalet will have a welcome pack consisting of a sponge, tea towel, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, 1 toilet roll per toilet and a bin bag in each bin.
  • Linen and towels are included in but are not included in the summer. Alpine Essence can provide them for you at a charge or provided by yourself.
  • Cleaning at the end of your stay is included in the price of your chalet (Winter only). If you would like a daily clean service, we can arrange this at an extra charge. Please contact us for more details. In summer, cleaning is extra and is payable on arrival at the resort.
  • All chalets have a television, but it depends on the chalet whether it is French, Dutch, English TV or just Internet accessed so please check the chalet description.
  • All chalets have Wi-Fi Internet.
Things you will need to provide in the chalet

If you have booked a self-catered holiday, we suggest you will need to provide:

  • Extra Tea towels – there will be one in the kitchen, but you may require more for your stay
  • Baby beds/chairs - can be hired from Alpine Essence, please contact us for more information
  • Wood for fire - can be bought from Alpine Essence, please contact us for more information
  • Toilet rolls – there will be one roll in each toilet to get you started but you will most likely need to buy more for your stay
  • Bin bags – one will be provided in each bin for your arrival, but you will most likely need to buy more for your stay
  • Cleaning products
  • Some chalets will have some supplies of spices, tea, coffee from previous guests but this is not guaranteed and you will need to provide your own.
  • Please remember that if you are arriving after 19hrs on a Saturday the local supermarket will be closed so please make sure you have considered how you will get your supplies for the first night in resort.
